The term Praetor in Gorean lore is generally interchanged with Magistrate, and descriptions of their function rarely differ from that of Magistrate. SL Gor typically assigns the term to a warrior, likely because of the shout out to Roman cultures. Because Pertinax is a warrior, he used the term Praetor in defining the High Magistrate role. As I'm a scribe, I'll retain the High Magistrate title.
