The FREVET is a small and quick, insectivorous mammal, sometimes kept in homes for insect control.

Sometimes mistaken for urts, they feed on insects such as beetles and lice and are particularly common in river towns to control the spread of such unwanted pests indoors.

Frevets are nocturnal and usually shy away from humans. People can become quite fond of them though, because of useful purpose they serve, and may come to regard them almost as pets.
