A Tatrix is a female ruler of a city on Gor, essentially the female equivalent of an Ubar. The most prominent example is Talena, who becomes the Tatrix of Corcyrus in Kajira of Gor and other subsequent books.
While the term "Ubara" is also used for female rulers (and often seems interchangeable with "Tatrix" in some contexts, or perhaps "Tatrix" implies a specific type of female ruler or city custom), the specific title "Tatrix" is used for powerful female sovereigns.
